Planning: Pitch - Initial Idea - Leanne

We have been influenced by the themes of murder music videos. Such as:

Outside of our genre
Rihanna - Man Down

Although it's actually a female artist singing, and it's a completely different genre to the one we have, we have still grasped some inspiration from her as her song concept and ours is pretty similar. Although it's a dark topic, the video contains murder and domestics and although ours is slightly different, it still contains those issues. In addition, in the music video, we will also take some inspiration from her locations as she filmed in some nice locations such as inside and in parks.

Jhene Aiko 

Similar to rihanna. Although she's a female artist, we can still take inspiration from her taking revenge on someone due to domestic arguments etc.

Although this is completely outside of the genre we are doing, we took inspiration from this video as it is not the actual singer performing in the video. We have decided that we will be using actors, and we thought this may be a bit confusing to the viewer as they'd probably want to see the performer, however coldplay did it quite well so we are also hoping to do it well

In addition, Hall of fame by the script also uses actors in their music video while the singer narrates. We have taken a lot of inspiration from this as our artist will essentially narrate what's happening while our actors perform, like in this video. In this video, there are many different actors for different storylines however we will not have this many. As the song features will.i.am, there are two narrators/performers but we will only have one.

Within our alternative genre, we have also drawn inspiration from Alt J themselves, there artists of the song we will be remaking. From this video, we have drawn inspiration from their slow editting styles and slow motion and there close up of the artists. As they were the same band that sang the song we are doing, its inevitable that there are similar themes in the song, meaning that editting styles will be similar. We will be using slow edits when the song is slow, like them and we will also not make our artist star as an actor in the music video, also like them.

Tove Lo - Stay High

We will be taking inspiration from tove lo's music video stay high as in the music video as the title suggests, there is drug abuse and partying etc.Although there is substance abuse in this video for different reasons to ours, we are still going to take inspiration from how the director portrays it as it is not too obvious and therefore disturbing but it is still clear.

Lana Del Rey - Shades of cool

We will be taking inspiration from this video as she films in similar locations to where we would like to film. Eg. Quite dark and at night in some scenes but quite bright and outside at park in others.
